A vehicle stop leads to multiple charges

Yesterday shortly after 2 pm North Bay Police received a report of a person in a vehicle that appeared to be in some type of medical distress. The vehicle was stopped on Worthington Street in North Bay and as a result police have arrested and charged two males and two females.

Corey Pratt, age 28, of West Nipissing is charged with:

One count of Obstructing Police;

One count of Impaired Operation of a Vehicle;

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;

Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance;

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

One count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

One count of Fail to Comply with Recognizance; and

Two counts of Breach of Probation.

Makayla Brazeau, age 22, of West Nipissing is charged with;

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;

Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance; and

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

Marlee Kentner, age 25, of North Bay is charged with;

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;

Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance; and

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

Christopher Lafleur, age 28, of North Bay is charged with;

Three counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;

Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule One Substance;

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000; and

One count of Breach Probation.

It is alleged that the driver, Corey Pratt provided a name not being his own. It was also determined that Corey Pratt’s ability to drive the vehicle was impaired by drug.

Following the arrest police conducted a search and seized the following from the vehicle;

A small baggy of a purple hard substance suspected to be Purple Fentanyl.

A hard clear substance suspected to be Crystal Methamphetamine.

A quantity of hard white pressed pills believed to be Methamphetamine.

A small quantity of suspected Hydromorphone

A small quantity of suspected Suboxone

A plastic baggy containing a small amount of suspected cocaine

$5010 in Canadian currency

a pair of brass knuckles

weigh scales

The total street value of these drugs combined is believed to be $11,300.00.

Corey Pratt was held in custody pending a bail hearing for January 4th, 2019 in North Bay.

Makayla Brazeau, Marlee Kentner and Christopher Lefleur were released from police custody and will appear in court on February 19th 2019 in answer to their charges.
