On January 2nd in the mid-afternoon police were called to a fight in progress at the intersection of First Avenue West and Fraser Street in the City of North Bay. As a result North Bay Police arrested and charged:
Raymond Michaud, age 34, of North Bay with:
One count of Assault Cause Bodily Harm;
Two counts of Assault with a Weapon; and
One count of Breach of Recognizance.
It is alleged that the accused and the male victim entered into a physical altercation after the victim bumped into the accused while walking across street. During the altercation a bicycle was grabbed from the victim by the accused and used as a weapon.
The victim sustained injuries that required medical attention.
The accused left the scene just prior to the arrival of police. He was later located and arrested. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
