Last Wednesday afternoon police were called to a residence for a disturbance. It resulted in the arrest of Derek Sevigney, age 25, of North Bay who is charged with:
Two counts of Assault with a Weapon;
Two counts of Mischief;
One count of Breach Release Order; and
One Count of Causing a Disturbance.
It is alleged that on September 23rd the accused attended a residence on Worthington Street West in North Bay. He began banging on the residence door making demands of the occupants. The accused then raised a club demanding a male resident come out and fight him.
Police were contacted and while they were on route to the scene the accused damaged the door of the house and went to the driveway damaging a vehicle parked there. Another adult male resident of the home arrived at this point to find the accused rummaging through the vehicle. When confronted the accused struck this male resident with a duffle bag. The victim was able to hold the accused until the police arrived. Police effected an arrest and the accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
