Break and Enter Charges Laid

On January 6th 2019 the North Bay Police responded to a call of an unwanted person in a residence on Galt Street in North Bay. As a result of the investigation Justin DANIS, a 27 year old man of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with;

One count of Break and Enter;

One count of Obstruct Police Officer;

One count of Possession of break-in tools;

One count of Breach of Probation.

The accused also had outstanding arrest warrants for property related criminal charges from both North Bay and West Nipissing Police Services that were executed.

The accused had entered the residence which was unoccupied at the time. A person checking the residence for the owner found the accused and contacted the police.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In a second break and enter occurrence;

On January 6th 2019 North Bay Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen who reported a break and enter in progress at a residence on Princess Street in North Bay. As a result of the investigation police have arrested and charged;

Gary Moore, a 57 year old man from North Bay with;

One count of Break, Enter and Theft; and

One count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Michael Moore, a 31 year old man from North Bay with;

One count of Break, Enter and Theft.

Michael Moore also had a warrant outstanding for his arrest.

The police were supplied with a description of the two accused and were able to identify and subsequently arrest the accused men. The property was recovered.

Gary Moore was released from police custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on February 5th in answer to the charge. Michael Moore was held in custody for a bail hearing.

North Bay Police remind the public that break and enters are often a crime of opportunity. The more difficult you make it for thieves to break into your home, the more likely it is that they will move along. Be aware of suspicious people or vehicles in your neighbourhood and call police immediately if you’re concerned.We will respond to these calls.
