Domestic Assaults

North Bay Police began a domestic assault investigation on January 21st which has resulted in the January 23rd arrest of a 24 year old man from North Bay. The man now faces the following charges;

Five counts of Domestic Assault;

Five counts of Assault with a Weapon;

Two counts of Mischief; and

One count of Uttering Threats

It is alleged that on January 21st North Bay Police received information that a woman was seeking advice as a relationship she had been involved in had recently ended and she was concerned for her safety. The investigation revealed that on several different occasions over a six month period the female had been the victim of assaultive behavior.

Following his arrest the accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In order to protect the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.
