June 2018 Community Commitments

The North Bay Police Service will be out in our community at the following events in June 2018

June 1st – Launch to Safe Boating – 3 PM at the Waterfront Marina on Memorial Avenue North Bay Police will join with the OPP, MNR, MADD, North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, and Blue Sky Sailing Club for this educational public event on safety around the water.

June 5th – Our School Liaison Officers will be at West Ferris High School participating in ‘Teens Learn to Drive’. This event is led by the Ministry of Transportation and helps introduce safe driving practices.

June 6th – Officers will assist from 9am to 11am in supporting Tim Horton’s with their Camp Day initiative. “On June 6th, 100% of proceeds from all coffee purchases will help kids from low income homes go to camp.”

June 7th – Our School Liaison Officers will join the Callander Fire Department at MT Davidson for bring your parent to school day. `` Information will be provided on prevention and safety.

June 8th – An Officer will be at the Emergency Services Day locally at the Early Years Centre across from Memorial Gardens. Our Officer will join other groups from 9am to 12pm.

June 13th – Our Officers will assist and support Armed Forces Day with the celebrations in North Bay.

June 15th – Our School Liaison Officers will be at a bike rodeo at Vincent Massey School

June 16th – Officers will be out supporting the Nipissing Motorcycle Clubs ‘Ride for Dad’ at the Ramada Pinewood Park Resort, 201 Pinewood Park Drive, North Bay. Registration starts at 8:00am till 9:30am, and Kickstands Up at 10:30am Sharp.

June 19th – Officers will be part of a five person “Cannabis Forum” at 7pm at the Elks Club in North Bay. Following a five-minute presentation from the speakers the session will be opened to the public to ask questions to the speakers. Everyone welcome.

June 20th – Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will occur starting at 1030 at the North Bay Police Headquarters and ending at the North Bay Museum. A BBQ will follow the run to raise funds for the event.

June 26th - The 6th annual Medication Drug Drop-off Day will take place at Shoppers Drug Mart at 2025 Cassells Street in North Bay, June 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.The public is invited to drop-off unused or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbal supplements on this day for safe disposal.
