Man Arrested, Charged for Assaulting Taxi Driver

On Thursday, October 7, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 22-year old man who had assaulted a taxi driver.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service responded to reports of an assault that occurred outside a residence on Lakeshore Drive.

The accused in this incident is Brett DUPUIS, male, age 22 of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Assault
  • One count of Mischief Under $5,000
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

The accused travelled in a taxicab to a residence on Lakeshore Drive. Upon arrival at the location, the accused is alleged to have assaulted the driver of the taxicab and broke a window on the door of the vehicle.

The victim suffered minor physical injuries from the assault.

Members of the North Bay Police Service arrived at the location and located the accused in the residence, where he was arrested.

The accused is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
