The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) held its inaugural Auxiliary Member Graduation Ceremony Wednesday at North Bay City Hall Council Chambers, recognizing the completion of training for its first class of Auxiliary Members.
The ceremony took place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, where family, guests, and members of the NBPS gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class. Auxiliary Members of the inaugural class include Mr. Benjamin Mason, Mr. Liam Brooks, Mr. Sebastien Lagace, Mr. Ignazio Faraci, and Mr. Harshit Bansal.
NBPS was honoured to have Miss Kayc Bilodeau, a local Grade 8 student, join the ceremony to perform the national anthem, adding a special moment to the event.
“This graduation marks both an achievement and the beginning of something new for each graduating member and for the North Bay Police Service,” said Chief Longworth. “Becoming an Auxiliary Member reflects a commitment to service, community, and to something greater than oneself. Each graduate has chosen to contribute their time, energy, and skills in support of public safety, and that commitment matters. As the inaugural class, the members graduating will lay the foundation of the Auxiliary Member Program.”
The Auxiliary Member Program, launched in November 2025, was developed to enhance community engagement and support public safety initiatives throughout North Bay. Auxiliary Members are volunteers from the community who work under the supervision of sworn officers, assisting with a variety of duties including traffic and crowd control at public events, participation in R.I.D.E. programs, support during emergency situations, and public safety outreach activities. The program emphasizes strengthening community relationships and contributing to a safer city.
NBPS extends its congratulations to the inaugural graduating class and thanks them for their commitment to serving the North Bay community.
