North Bay Police Arrest Two on Drug Trafficking Charges

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged two men with drug trafficking offenses.

The accused in this matter are:

Roy GOUVEIA, male, age 20 of Toronto, also known by the alias “Kobe,” who is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Dante ROBINSON, male, age 23 of Toronto, who is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

As the result of an investigation, at approximately 9:49 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and NBPS patrol attempted to stop the accused outside a residence on Algonquin Avenue, North Bay. Both of the accused fled on foot and, after a foot pursuit, both accused were arrested.

Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 56 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
  • Approximately 82 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately $63 in Canadian currency
  • Four cellular phones

The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $40,000.

The accused are being held pending a show cause hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
