North Bay Police investigate reports of theft from vehicles

North Bay Police remind the general public to lock their vehicles when unattended, specifically at night. Since 1 September, 2017 North Bay Police has received 14 reports of theft from vehicles. All of these vehicles were unlocked. Small amounts of cash and change were removed, including debit cards, visa cards and individual’s wallets. The North Bay Police street crime unit is aware of these thefts and are investigating.

Areas of theft include, but not limited to:

  • Thelma Dr
  • Nightingale St
  • Portage Ave
  • Labreche St
  • Mulligan Galt St
  • Browning St
  • Beattie St
  • Lansdowne Ave
  • Harvey St
  • One occurrence on Main Street in Callander

Crime prevention is a shared responsibility

The North Bay Police Service reminds motorists to remove valuables from sight when leaving vehicles unattended. It is recommended not to leave your identification in your vehicle.

Call 9-1-1

If you witness suspicious activity in your neighbourhood, such as a person or persons walking from vehicle to vehicle checking door handles for unlocked vehicles, call 9-1-1 immediately to report what you have seen to police.
