North Bay Police Seize Over $156,000-worth of Illicit Drugs

After an investigation, at approximately 3:30PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service executed a search warrant on a residence in the 300-block of Mulligan Street, North Bay. Police seized over $156,000-worth of suspected Fentanyl and Cocaine from the residence. Three male individuals located within the residence have been arrested and charged.

Sebastian ROY, male, age 42, of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other drugs
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other drugs
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • One count of Disobeying Order of Court
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

Hassan MOURTCHI, male, age 22, of Burlington is charged with:

Shoib ABDULLAHI, male, age 19, of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other drugs
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Sentence

During the search, police seized:

  • Approximately 274 grams of suspected Fentanyl
  • Approximately 465 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • One (1) digital scale
  • Packaging material
  • More than $5,000 of Canadian currency

The estimated total street value of the controlled substances seized is approximately $156,070.

All three individuals remain in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse on April 1, 2021.

The investigation was conducted by the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit and members of Project Drifter. Project Drifter is a joint forces operation between the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau. Their continued partnership identifies, investigates, and takes enforcement action against individuals believed to be involved in the illegal distribution of controlled substances in the Nipissing District.
