North Bay Police Service Arrest, Charge Two with Drug Offences

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged two men with drug trafficking offenses at a residence on Rose Avenue, North Bay.

The accused in this matter are:

Najiib ADAN, male, age 26 of Mississauga, who is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Louis William CANTIN, male, age 38 of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

As part of an investigation, members of the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit and NBPS’s Emergency Response Team executed a warrant on a residence on Rose Avenue, North Bay at approximately 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Both of the accused were located in the residence at the time and were arrested.

Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 8 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
  • Approximately 41 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • Approximately $1,090 in Canadian currency
  • Suspected drug trafficking equipment

The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $7,210.

The North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit was supported in this incident by the NBPS Emergency Response Team.

The accused are being held pending a show cause hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
