The North Bay Police Service will be hosting a town hall meeting on Monday May 27th 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, 325 Elks Lane, North Bay.
Discussions will take place on the City of North Bay Taxi By-Law in relation to new Rideshare businesses looking to operate in the city.Input will be sought from involved stakeholders about changes to the existing By-Law in an effort to develop rules around the two business models that will strike a balance between allowing taxi companies to compete while welcoming new business opportunities to the city.
The By-Law amendments will be aimed at helping to ensure the health and safety of both passengers and drivers, the protection of persons and property and to ensure consumer protection while at the same time, offering more options for travelling within North Bay.
Members of the media and public are welcome to attend.Any person and/or organization requesting to make a presentation will be provided five minutes to present their opinions and concerns.Presentations shall be respectful to the topic of the town hall meeting and to the audience for which it will be presented. (A total of 30 minutes of time has been allotted for presentations) Presenters must provide a copy of their presentation to the attention of the Deputy Chief at the North Bay Police Service by the 14th of May, 2019.
