The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 36-year-old man for theft of a motor vehicle.

The accused in this incident is Dereck LETOURNEAU, male, age 36, of North Bay, who is charged with:

• One count of Theft of Motor Vehicle
• One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
• One count of Driving while under suspension

On November 23, 2024, the accused was present in the residence of the victim. Upon leaving the residence, the accused took the keys to the victim’s motor vehicle without the victim’s knowledge or consent. Later that same day, members of the North Bay Police Service conducted a traffic stop on the motor vehicle on Lakeshore Drive, North Bay. The accused was located operating the vehicle and arrested.

The accused and victim are known to one another.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
