Police Arrest, Charge Three in Connection to Robbery with Firearm

On May 10, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged three individuals in connection to a robbery with a firearm.

The accused in this incident are:

Henry Auther CYR, male, age 39, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • One count of Weapons trafficking
  • One count of Breach of Judicial Order

Tommy Christian GAGNE, male, age 37, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • One count of Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition
  • One count of Accessory After the Fact to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

Lucas Shane MOREAU, male, age 31 of Callander, Ontario, who is charged with:

  • One count of Robbery with violence
  • One count of Pointing a Firearm
  • One count of Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Once count of Carrying concealed weapon
  • Two counts of Failure to comply with release order
  • One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • One count of Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

On May 10, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service received reports that accused MOREAU and a suspect who is known to police had attended a residence on Main Street East, North Bay. The victim, who is known to the suspect, allowed the accused and suspect entry to the residence. The suspect attended another room in the residence. During this time, the accused demanded money from the victim, brandished a firearm, pointed it at the victim and threatened the victim’s life. A witness in the residence provided the accused a quantity of Canadian currency at which point the accused fled the area, stating he would return. The suspect also left the location prior to police arrival. Police were contacted and attended the location. At approximately 4:00 p.m. that same day, Police located and arrested the accused at a residence on Main Street East.

Further to the investigation, police located a sawed-off shotgun belonging to accused CYR, which is believed to be the weapon used in the robbery. The weapon was located at a residence on Main Street East, North Bay, having been hidden from police while in the possession of accused GAGNE. Accused GAGNE and CYR were not present at the robbery. Members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged GAGNE and CYR.

Accused MOREAU and GAGNE were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse. Accused CYR was released on an Undertaking.

Police are continuing the investigation into this incident and are seeking to locate the known suspect who accompanied MOREAU to the initial Main Street East residence.
