The North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 29-year-old male for Break and Enter, Mischief, and Harassment in two unrelated incidents.
The accused in this matter is Nathan Omer CARRIERE, male, age 29, of North Bay, who is charged with:
- One count of Break, Enter dwelling house – with intent to commit indictable offence
- One count of Mischief Over $5,000
- One count of Criminal Harassment – threatening conduct
- Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on September 17, 2023, the accused forcibly entered a business on Main Street West, North Bay, causing damage to the business’s door. Upon entry to the business, the accused caused damage to many items of property within the business. The value of the damage is estimated to exceed $5,000. Members of the North Bay Police Service located the accused still in the business at approximately 7:30 a.m. on September 18, 2023. The accused was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest located several items of property belonging to the business on the accused’s person.
While in police custody, police became aware of another incident involving the accused that occurred on September 17, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the same business as mentioned above. The victim attended the business and checked to see if the business was open. Seeing the accused outside the business, the victim asked the accused if he knew if the business was open. The accused responded aggressively to the victim and made threatening comments. The victim fled the area in response. The accused was charged in relation to this incident while already in custody with the North Bay Police Service for the Break and Enter and Mischief charges.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
