Police Charge Man with Arson, Break and Enter

On August 13, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 36-year old man with Arson and Break and Enter.

The accused in this incident is Allan Dalton JOHNSTON, male, age 36, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
  • One count of Arson – Damage to Property

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on August 13, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service received a report from North Bay Fire and Emergency Services that the accused set an unoccupied tent on fire in the backyard of a residence on Shea Street, North Bay. The accused left the immediate location prior to police arrival, but was located by police and arrested on O’Brien Street.

It is also alleged that the accused had entered the victim’s residence. A search incident to arrest by police of the accused revealed items of the victim’s property on the person of the accused.

The victim and accused are not known to one another. No physical injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear before the court on September 22, 2022.
