Members of the North Bay Police Service have arrested and charged a 29-year old man with Assault and weapon offences.

The accused in this incident is Mitchell MADSEN, male, age 29, of North Bay, who is charged with:

• One count of Assault
• One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Causing a Disturbance

On November 24, 2022, the North Bay Police Service responded to a report that at approximately 8:45 p.m. the accused attended a parking lot on Main Street East, North Bay and began yelling at and disrupting workers in the area. The accused proceeded to assault an individual in the area who attempted to diffuse the situation by leaving to the safety of a local business. At this time the accused brandished an edged weapon. Upon police arrival, the accused was arrested and charged.

The victim and accused are not known to one another.

The victim sustained minor, non-life threatening physical injuries as a result of the incident.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
