On June 19, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service arrested and charged two individuals with drug trafficking offences.
The accused in this incident are:
Lundey Layne GALICK, female, age 26 of North Bay, who is charged with:
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
Amanda Darleen LARUE, female, age 26 of Bonfield, Ontario, who is charged with:
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
As part of an investigation, on June 19, 2022, members of the North Bay Police Service initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in which the two accused were travelling. Members of the North Bay Police Service determined one of the accused was wanted on outstanding warrants in North Bay. As a result, the accused was arrested. A police search of the vehicle found a quantity of illegal drugs, a prohibited weapon, a quantity of Canadian currency, and several open alcohol containers. The second accused was then arrested. In total, searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 47 suspected methamphetamine pills
- Approximately 5 grams of suspected cocaine
- A conductive energy weapon (commonly known as a Taser)
- A quantity of Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $770.
Accused LARUE was released on an Undertaking. Accused GALICK was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
