Police Charge Woman with Break and Enter, Weapon Offences

Members of the North Bay Police Service arrested a 32-year old female on charges of Break and Enter.

The accused in this incident is Sarah Maria MADSEN, female, age 32, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
  • One count of Possession Break In Instruments
  • One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On November 24, 2022, at approximately 2:45 a.m., members of the North Bay Police Service responded to a report that the accused was attempting to enter a building on Main Street East, North Bay. Upon police arrival, the accused was located carrying a hand axe. The accused ignored police commands to drop the weapon, instead using it to attempt to open a door of a business on Main Street East. The accused was unsuccessful at this attempt and subsequently brandished the axe in the direction of police. Police deployed their conductive energy weapon (Taser), arrested and charged the accused.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
