Police make arrest in a stabbing incident that occurred at a North Bay residence.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of Brett Dupuis, age 21, of North Bay who is charged with:

One count of Assault with a Weapon; and

One count of Aggravated Assault.

It is alleged that shortly after midnight on September 26th police responded to a McIntyre Street West residence in North Bay. The accused and the adult male victim are known to each other and were socializing at the victim’s residence with friends. An argument started which turned physical between the victim and the accused. During the altercation the victim received multiple stab wounds from an edged weapon. The accused fled the scene and police were called.

The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Brett Dupuis was located later that morning at a North Bay residence where he was arrested by police.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
