Two Charged with Threats, Weapon Offences

The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 55-year-old male and a 19-year-old male for uttering threats and weapon offences.

The accused in this incident are:

Frederick Richard TROTTIER, male, age 55, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • One count of Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

Kyle TROTTIER, male, age 19, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

On October 15, 2024, the North Bay Police Service received a report regarding threats made by the accused against a victim. On October 16, 2024, members of the North Bay Police Service, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactical Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence belonging to the accused. Accused Frederick TROTTIER was located inside the residence and arrested. Accused Kyle TROTTIER was located later the same day on Lakeshore Drive, North Bay.

Searches by police resulted in the seizure of a handgun and accompanying ammunition.

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
